Hey {{first_name}}
Loni Stark has spent 25 years at Adobe, and lately most of her thinking happens outside the office. She and her partner built a home AI server and have kept the same autonomous agent running continuously for 154 days, testing something simple to ask and hard to answer: what makes an agent the same agent over time.
They already swapped out the underlying model once and found the agent held onto its identity. Now they're about to swap the entire framework running it, to see if that holds too. Loni ties this to her research at Harvard Extension School, where she studies what happens to people's sense of self when a core part of who they are has no outlet in their daily life.
In this episode, she talks with Liam Lawson about that experiment, what it's made her question about her own identity, and what she's learned at Adobe about how AI is changing the way people find and trust brands.
