TOGETHER WITH IBM

IBM helps the Masters bring the fairway to every fan

There’s so much more to watching sports than watching. When every shot, by every player, on every hole produces more than 30 data points, the Masters app turns golf into a data-rich, AI-powered immersive experience.

Here’s how the Masters on IBM’s AI pulls fans closer to the game:
 Hole Insights: Why a shot matters, the instant the ball comes to rest
 Scoring probabilities: Calculations based on historic shot data.
 Round in 3 Minutes: Video recaps after a player completes play.
 Masters Vault: 50+ years of favorite final-round now searchable with AI.

Anthropic drops Opus 4.7

🚨 Our Report

Anthropic has released Claude Opus 4.7, its latest flagship model, which outperforms Opus 4.6 in advanced software engineering, particularly on the most difficult coding tasks. The model is now available across all Claude products, API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Foundry.

🔓 Key Points

  • Users report being able to hand off their hardest coding work to Opus 4.7 with confidence, as the model handles complex tasks with rigor and can verify its own outputs.

  • The model has substantially better vision capabilities, accepting images up to 2,576 pixels on the long edge (roughly 3.75 megapixels), more than three times the resolution of prior Claude models.

  • Anthropic is releasing Opus 4.7 with new safeguards that automatically detect and block requests indicating prohibited cybersecurity uses, following its recent Project Glasswing announcement on AI cyber risks.

🔐 Relevance

For enterprise teams relying on Claude for coding and agentic workflows, Opus 4.7 offers real gains without a price increase (still $5/$25 per million input/output tokens). The improved instruction-following and higher-resolution vision open new use cases for computer-use agents and complex document processing. Security professionals can apply for Anthropic's new Cyber Verification Program to access the model for legitimate penetration testing and red-teaming.

THE BUSINESS BRIEFING: HR & TALENT (powered by Upscaile)

Cockroach Labs (distributed SQL database company, $5B valuation) was burning 14 weeks of recruiter capacity annually on manual note-taking and scorecard formatting. Screen interviews required constant multitasking which hurt candidate engagement and created inconsistent documentation across the team.

Tool used: Metaview -- AI-powered interview transcription and analysis for recruiting teams.

Result: 70 working days (14 weeks) saved annually across the recruiting team. Standardized interview documentation, higher candidate engagement, and recruiters repositioned as strategic hiring partners instead of administrative processors.

The lesson: AI notetaking only delivers value when it's purpose-built for the workflow. Generic transcription tools miss recruiting-specific needs like scorecard integration and candidate evaluation frameworks.

Steal this: Pull up your last three recruiter phone screens and clock how many minutes you spent typing notes vs. engaging with candidates. If it's over 30%, test an AI notetaker this week, Metaview offers free trials, or pilot alternatives like Brighthire or Hireguide for recruiting-specific automation.

TOGETHER WITH INCOGNI

Unknown number calling? It’s not random…

The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250k from victims.

The disturbing truth?

Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers. Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation, and identity theft.

That’s why we recommend Incogni: They delete your info from the web, monitor and follow up automatically, and continue to erase data as new risks appear.

Protect your identity before it’s too late. Use code AIREPORT for an exclusive 55% discount on unlimited removals.

THE POLICY CORNER

Illinois now requires explicit consent before using AI to score video job interviews.

Any employer using AI to analyze applicants' facial expressions, tone, or body language during video interviews must notify candidates beforehand, explain how the AI works, and obtain consent. Applies to all Illinois-based job applicants, regardless of where the company is headquartered.

Deadline: In effect now.

Your move: If your ATS or recruiting platform uses AI-powered video screening for Illinois roles, verify that your consent workflow is documented and that applicants can request a non-AI alternative.

The Money: Infrastructure over models

Late-stage capital is bypassing frontier labs and backing the picks-and-shovels layer. As AI compute demand outpaces hyperscaler capacity, investors are wagering on infrastructure control.

Deals to know:

  • Fluidstack (Series B+, $1B) — AI-optimized data centers custom-built for Anthropic, Meta, and others. Valuation jumped from $7.5B to $18B in four months. Investors: Jane Street (lead), Situational Awareness

  • Accel Leaders Fund IV (Fund raise, $4B) — Late-stage firepower targeting AI hardware, robotics, defense tech, and data center infrastructure. Averaging $200M checks across 20+ companies. Investors: Accel LPs

Signal: Smart money betting AI's constraint isn't algorithmic, it's access to purpose-built compute. Infrastructure operators with customer lock-in will command premium multiples through 2027.
