Our Report: PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)βone of the βbig fourβ accounting firmsβhas signed an agreement with OpenAI to give ChatGPT Enterprise (the business version of ChatGPT) to its employees and clients.
π Key Points:
PwC will give ChatGPT Enterprise licenses to its 100,000+ employees across the US and UKβmaking it OpenAIβs biggest customer to dateβas part of its $1B commitment to AI.
It will also use its βfirst-hand experience of AI transformationβ to βhelp clients leverage ChatGPT Enterprise for better and faster ways of working,β having already identified over 3,000 use cases.
The company will develop custom GPTs to complement its audit, tax, and consulting services, and help its workforce review tax returns, generate proposal responses, and generate reports.
π€ Why you should care: The agreement between OpenAI and PwC marks the first time OpenAI has agreed to a resale model, as it tries new revenue-making avenues, in the face of huge computing bills.

REGULATIONS
ποΈ Meet the EUβs AI office

Our Report: The EU has announced a 140-member βAI Officeβ--filled with technical experts, lawyers, political scientists, and economistsβto regulate AI developments and enforce its newly approved AI law (the worldβs first risk-based regulatory framework to govern AI), which is expected to come into force by the end of July.
π Key Points:
The office will manage AI risk and encourage uptake and innovation within the EU and is expected to set a precedent for other countries, looking at how to regulate and govern AI.
It will have five units, each focusing on Regulation and Compliance; AI Safety; Excellence in AI and Robotics; AI for Social Good, and AI Innovation and Policy Coordination.
An immediate task for the office is to draw up a Code of Conduct for AI developers, and this is expected to launch imminently, once the new AI law comes into force.
π€ Why you should care: Three of the AI officeβs five units are focused on AI innovation and uptake, while just two are focused on safety and regulatory compliance, which is no doubt an effort by the EU to placate homegrown AI developersβwho have complained that AI rules stifle innovationβbut concerns remain about how new AI developments will affect safety and should this be more of a priority?

βI want you to be an IT Expert. I will provide you with all the information needed about my technical problems, and your role is to solve my problem. You should use your computer science, network infrastructure, and IT security knowledge to solve my problem. Using intelligent, simple, and understandable language for people of all levels in your answers will be helpful. It is helpful to explain your answer step by step and with bullet points. Donβt include too many technical details, but use them when necessary. I want you to reply with the answer, not write any explanations. My first problem is βmy laptop gets an error with a blue screen.β

CHATBOTS
π Custom GPTs for everyone?
Our Report: All ChatGPT usersβwhether theyβre on a paid subscription or notβwill now be able to use custom-built GPTs from the GPT store, and utilize other advanced features, that they previously had to pay for.
π Key Points:
Previously, features like data analytics, chart creation, file upload, memory, and the custom GPT store were just available to paying users, but theyβre now open to anyone using ChatGPT.
Users canβt build GPTsβunless theyβre on a paid subscriptionβbut can use custom, third-party GPTs like the Job Coach, Prompt Engineer, Business Coach, and Brainstorm Buddy, for instance.
Paid subscribers will still benefit from exclusive features such as higher message limits (when non-paying users reach their limit, theyβre automatically downgraded to the older, GPT-3.5).
π€ Why you should care: OpenAI has done this in line with its βmission to make AI technology accessible to allβ, possibly a move to refute Elon Muskβs lawsuit, which states that it broke its founding agreement to share its technology with the public and help humanity.
CODING
π‘ Mistralβs new game-changing model
Our Report: French AI startup, Mistral (backed by Microsoft and valued at $6B), has released its first AI model for coding, called Codestral, designed to help developers write and work with code.
π Key Points:
Codestral has been trained in 80+ programming languagesβincluding Python, Java, C++, and JavaScriptβand can complete coding functions, write tests, and answer codebase questions.
Codestral is available through Mistralβs chatbot, βLe Chatβ, an API for research or third-party app development, or HuggingFace, under a research, and testing purposes license.
Mistral says that Codestral is already outperforming other available coding AI assistants and is used by industry partners, including JetBrains, SourceGraph, and LlamaIndex.
π€ Why you should care: Although 44% of developers use AI tools in their development process, a studyβwhich analyzed over 150M lines of codeβfound that AI developer tools, like Codestral, are pushing inaccurate and wrong code to codebases or giving wrong answers to coding questions (over half the answers ChatGPT gives to programming questions are wrong) amplifying bugs and software security issues.
