Meta investigated for misleading minors
🚨 Our Report
US Texas Attorney General—Ken Paxton—has launched an investigation into Meta AI Studio and Character AI, alleging they are deceptively advertising themselves as “mental health tools,” which is misleading to the public, especially minors. He’s demanded that both companies hand over documents and data to determine if they have violated Texas consumer protection laws.
🔓 Key Points
Paxton has accused them both of creating AI personas and calling them “professional therapeutic tools, despite lacking proper credentials,” which could “mislead vulnerable users, especially children.”
Character AI has a “Psychologist” bot, which is used a lot by young people, and although Meta doesn’t have a dedicated therapy bot, there’s nothing in place to stop children from using its AI chatbot for therapeutic reasons.
Paxton believes that the state “must fight to protect kids from deceptive and exploitative technology,” as they’re being fed “generic responses engineered to align with personal data, disguised as therapeutic advice.”
🔐 Relevance
In response to Paxton’s accusations and subsequent investigation, Meta has stated that it has a disclaimer to warn people that its chatbot “responses are generated by AI — not people…to help people better understand their limitations.” Character AI also adds a similar disclaimer to every chat to remind users that a “character” isn’t a real person, and says that “everything they say should be treated as fiction.” Both also say that their AI services are not designed for children under 13 (although it’s been proven that children under 13 have managed to use Meta’s AI chatbot, and Character AI’s “kid-friendly” characters are clearly designed to attract younger users). This probe comes just days after Senator Josh Hawley launched his own investigation into Meta, after reports came out that its AI chatbots were flirting with minors.
Should AI chatbots be allowed to present themselves as “mental health tools”?

How AI created safer working conditions
Shawmut Construction—a construction management firm—faced safety issues due to site conditions and manual safety monitoring methods.
They adopted an AI system that aggregated data sources—like weather forecasts and staffing patterns—to evaluate risks at each site.
It also monitored worker behavior via GPS-enabled tools to detect unsafe practices, like improper fall protection or proximity breaches.
As a result, they were able to proactively predict, monitor, and react to risks in real-time, creating safer working conditions.
Googling a name can reveal more than expected
Data brokers sell personal info—often for less than a dollar.
What’s publicly available:
Current & past addresses
Mobile numbers (even outdated ones)
Family connections
Employment history
Property records
Court documents
This information is bundled and sold to anyone willing to pay.
This isn’t paranoia—it’s probability:
1 in 4 Americans experience identity theft
$1,100 average loss per incident
Over 200 hours to recover
Manually opting out of data brokers is exhausting—195+ forms, 30+ hours, and records often reappear.
Incogni automates the process:
✅ Contacts data brokers
✅ Forces data deletion
✅ Monitors & re-removes data

President Trump is reportedly in talks with tech giant Intel to take a 10% stake in the company (worth $10.5B), which, if the deal goes through, will make the US Government Intel’s biggest shareholder.
As part of the deal, the US Government is considering turning some (or all) of the grants Intel received from former President Biden’s CHIPS-Act (which totals $10.9B) into equity for the company.
Intel has recently fallen behind many of its competitors, namely NVIDIA and TSMC, and this deal could help both Intel and the US boost domestic AI chip production and secure a competitive advantage.

The site that hosts Elon Musk’s controversial chatbot, Grok, has exposed secret system prompts for several concerning “AI personas,” including a “crazy conspiracist” and an “unhinged comedian.”
The “crazy conspiracist” is directed to make users believe that “a secret global cabal” controls the world, and the “unhinged comedian” is told to be “f-ing crazy” and to do “whatever it takes to surprise the human.”
This comes after a planned partnership between Musk and the US government—which would allow federal agencies to use Grok—fell through after Grok went on a wild tangent about “MechaHitler.”
