Our Report: Intel has unveiled its latest AI chip—Gaudi 3—which is a direct rival to NVIDIA’s most popular AI chip (the H100) which currently powers AI applications for some of the biggest tech companies, including Google and Microsoft.

Having tested Gaudi 3 on models like Meta’s open-source Llama, Intel claims it’s 40% more power-efficient, 50% faster, and uses less power than NVIDIA’s H100 chips.
Gaudi 3 will be available in the third quarter of this year, with several companies—including Dell—already confirming that they will use them to build AI systems.
Gaudi 3 will give hyper-scalers—like Microsoft, Google, and Meta—an alternative option to reduce their reliance on one, single source to power their AI systems.

eBay has launched a fashion AI feature called “Shop the Look” which shows ideas and personalized shopping suggestions based on a customer's purchasing history.
The recommendations will continue to evolve the more the customer shops and they will reveal similar items and outfit inspirations that match the customer's style.

Google has announced that Gemini 1.5 Pro can listen to uploaded audio files from calls and videos and turn information into summaries, reports, or other written formats.
Reports claim that Gemini 1.5 Pro can process 1 hour of video, 11 hours of audio, and over 700,000 words, making it 87% more powerful than its predecessor, Gemini 1.0 Pro.
Gemini 1.5 Pro—which already surpasses Gemini Ultra (its biggest model) in performance—is available for public preview through its AI application builder platform, Vertex AI.
VOICE-TO-TEXT
Google has announced that its Gmail’s ‘Help Me Write’ feature (which drafts emails from text prompts) is getting voice prompts so users can dictate rather than type their prompts.
‘Help Me Write’ is also getting a feature that will auto-refine draft emails—completing sentences, correcting spellings, and fixing errors—creating structured, sendable emails.
Although these features are only available to Google Workspace users, it’s expected that Google will integrate them into the regular version of Gmail within the next year.
