Users will be able to make transactions using voice through an AI system that uniquely authenticates a person’s identity based on voice recordings
Initially, the AI system will support Hindi and English languages, but there are plans to include more Indian languages in the future
This is part of the Prime Ministers UPI (Universal Payments Interface) ambitions which enables users to make payments instantly, across the country, regardless of background
This is part of a larger plan to bring payment access to poorer, rural parts of India as the new technology enables offline payments through a method called “near field communication”
