IBM's Bob goes beyond coding

🚨 Our Report

IBM has announced the global availability of IBM Bob, an AI development partner designed to take enterprises from AI-assisted coding to production-ready software. Unlike typical coding assistants, Bob works across the full software development lifecycle, from planning and coding to testing, deployment, and modernization, with built-in governance and security controls.

🔓 Key Points

  • Bob uses multi-model orchestration, dynamically routing tasks to models including Anthropic Claude, Mistral, and IBM Granite based on accuracy, performance, and cost, so enterprises aren't locked into a single provider.

  • The tool launched internally at IBM in June 2025 with 100 developers and is now used by more than 80,000 IBM employees worldwide, with surveyed users reporting an average 45% productivity gain across modernization, security, and new development work.

  • Early enterprise adopter Blue Pearl used Bob to complete a typical 30-day Java upgrade in just 3 days, saving over 160 engineering hours, while Ernst & Young is using it to accelerate modernization of their global tax platform.

🔐 Relevance

For enterprise tech leaders, Bob addresses a real gap: AI coding tools are fast, but most lack the governance controls large organizations need. IBM's approach of embedding security scanning, policy enforcement, and audit trails directly into the development workflow could make it a safer choice for regulated industries. The 30-day trial and SaaS availability lower the barrier for teams ready to test it.

THE BUSINESS BRIEFING: HR & TALENT (powered by Upscaile)

TalentBridge Staffing (50-person staffing agency, light industrial) was losing contracts to faster competitors. Screening 800–1,200 applications per week took 4.2 days on average, delaying placements and costing an estimated $150K per month in missed orders. They deployed an AI HR agent to automate application screening, conduct initial phone screens, semantically match candidates from a 12,000-profile database, and re-engage inactive talent.

Tool used: Agentmelt AI HR Agent -- automates candidate qualification, voice-based screening, database matching, and follow-up.

Result: Time-to-fill reduced 40% (4.2 days → 2.5 days). Placement volume increased 3x (180 → 540 per month). $1.8M in additional annual placement revenue. Recruiters shifted from 60% admin screening to 85% client-facing work.

The lesson: In high-volume hiring, speed is the constraint; automate the first two screening layers and redeploy humans to relationships.

Steal this: Identify your highest-volume role this week. Document 5–7 binary screening criteria (authorization, shift availability, commute time, certifications, physical requirements), then configure an AI form or voice workflow to auto-qualify applicants within 2 hours of applying. Measure time-to-contact before and after.

Remove your personal data from Google search results

Your phone number, address, DOB, even your SSN can show up in a Google search. Marketers buy it, scammers exploit it, and in the worst cases, it ends up for sale on the dark web.

Incogni Unlimited helps you take control. Our privacy agents hunt down and remove your personal data from an unlimited number of sites. With automation across 420+ broker types—including People Search platforms and private databases—Incogni erases your information where others can’t reach.

THE POLICY CORNER

India's IT Rules 2026 mandate 3-hour takedowns for AI content

India's Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) requires platforms to remove flagged deepfakes and synthetic AI content within three hours of government notice. Applies to all intermediaries hosting user content in India—social platforms, messaging apps, AI tools. Miss the deadline and you lose safe harbor protections under Section 79 of the IT Act, meaning platforms become liable as publishers for all content.

Deadline: In effect now. Enforcement began February 2026.

Your move: If your platform hosts user-generated content or AI outputs, stress-test your takedown workflow against a 3-hour clock. Most teams will find gaps in overnight coverage, escalation paths, or documentation. Fix those before regulators come knocking.

The Money: Foundation model race enters late-stage capital sprint

Two of AI's most watched companies just pulled off billion-dollar rounds within 48 hours, signaling investors are willing to pay steep premiums to secure positions before likely IPOs. As enterprise revenue accelerates and public market windows open, late-stage AI bets are shifting from R&D financing to growth-stage positioning.

Deals to know:

  • Ineffable Intelligence (Seed, $1.1B at $5.1B valuation) -- DeepMind alum David Silver's "superlearner" AI system that trains through environment interaction, not static datasets. UK government's Sovereign AI initiative co-invested. Investors: Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Nvidia, Google, British Business Bank

  • Anthropic (Late-stage, $40B-$50B at $850B-$900B valuation) -- Claude maker considering preemptive offers after revenue run rate hit $40B (up from $9B in December). Previous round closed at $380B in February. Institutional investors preparing multi-billion commitments without confirmed allocations. Investors: TBD

Signal: Pre-IPO valuations compressing public-private gap. Smart money betting foundation model leaders close final private rounds before public debuts in 2026-2027.
