OpenAI has integrated new Enterprise-focused features into ChatGPT, including a โ€œRecord modeโ€ and connectors that link ChatGPT to popular Enterprise applications, including Dropbox, OneDrive, and Google Drive.

  • โ€œRecord Modeโ€ allows users to record meetings, generate notes, and get transcripts with timestamped citations and actions, which they can query and turn into a Canvas document (a workspace within ChatGPT).

  • ChatGPT will also connect to apps like Dropbox, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Google Drive, allowing users to find information and ask questions about internal work, like โ€œHow much revenue did we make last year?โ€

  • Currently, Record Mode is just for ChatGPT Team users, and the Connections feature is available for ChatGPT Team, Enterprise, and Edu users (which is OpenAIโ€™s student-focused plan).

After launching ChatGPT Enterprise in 2023 and then ChatGPT Teams (for smaller companies or teams) last year, these new features are part of OpenAIโ€™s continued strategy to target Enterprises (which have big budgets).   • After Microsoft recently cut 3% of its workforce, mostly affecting engineering teams (thanks to AI coding tools), Google CEO Sundar Pichai expects to keep expanding his engineering team, believing human talent remains key.

  • This name-change symbolizes a shift in focus from safety to โ€œenhancing US innovation,โ€ preventing โ€œburdensome and unnecessary regulation,โ€ and โ€œensuring US dominance of international AI standards.โ€

  • The new institute will โ€œfocus on demonstrable risks, such as cybersecurity and malign foreign influenceโ€ (undoubtedly a reference to China), and will aim to accelerate the expansion of US AI companies.
