Access your favorite apps via ChatGPT?

🚨 Our Report

During DevDay 2025, its annual developer conference, OpenAI launched “apps inside ChatGPT,” which allows users to “chat to” and interact with third-party tools in real-time through ChatGPT.

🔓 Key Points

  • For example, users could access the design tool, Figma, and turn a “sketch into a workable diagram, instruct real estate app, Zillow, to search for apartments, or ask Spotify to create a playlist—without leaving ChatGPT.

  • ChatGPT will also call up relevant apps if it thinks it will be helpful in its response to a user query: For example, it might auto-open Coursera if a user asks ChatGPT to teach them about machine learning.

  • OpenAI announced it had already secured partnerships with some big names, including Spotify, Canva, Zillow, Booking.com, Expedia, and Canva, and said DoorDash, Uber, and Instacart will be coming soon.

🔐 Relevance

This is a clear strategic move from OpenAI in an effort to become a fully fledged, self-sufficient ecosystem that removes the need for users to leave ChatGPT to access other websites or apps, making it a one-stop shop for work, shopping, and entertainment.

How UPS saved 10M gallons of fuel with AI

  • Parcel & logistics service, UPS, needed to cut the cost and carbon impact of last-mile delivery across its daily routes

  • Manually planned routes couldn’t react fast enough to traffic and pickup commitments, leading to excess miles, fuel burn, and delays.

  • They integrated an AI system that optimized routes for each driver using telematics, historical route data, constraints, and real-time conditions.

  • As a result of AI-powered real-time route optimization and driver guidance, UPS saved 100M miles and 10M gallons of fuel p/y.

What your CEO and board members read about AI

While everyone debates AI replacing jobs, Ian Krietzberg’s The Hidden Layer asks harder questions: How is artificial intelligence reshaping power itself?

This is where executives and policymakers turn for perspective, not panic—intelligence that cuts through Silicon Valley hype and Washington theater.

The Hidden Layer reveals how AI is changing the dynamics of influence and decision-making across every power center that matters.

Don’t just react to AI headlines. Understand the power plays behind them with Puck.

  3. GeekFlare cuts AI spending by 65% through unified team collaboration

  • Elon Musk has appointed ex-Morgan Stanley banker Anthony Armstrong (who also advised on his Twitter acquisition) as the new CFO of xAI, replacing a string of executives who left over structure clashes.

  • Armstrong will be tasked with steadying xAI’s finances after several advertiser pullbacks and the internal executive turmoil. He’ll also support financial operations at X, as Musk plans to more closely align the two.

  • The decision to hire such a seasoned CFO signals that Musk wants tighter control over finances as he plans to rapidly scale, and comes as xAI is about to enter a funding round, which (reportedly) values it at $200B.

  • AMD will supply OpenAI with 6 gigawatts of AI compute capacity (enough to power 4.5M homes) over 5 years, delivering the first gigawatt of compute in late 2026, coinciding with the launch of its new AI chip (MI450).

  • AMD claims MI450 outperforms NVIDIA’s most advanced chip, and as part of the agreement, AMD will also supply advanced infrastructure to fuel OpenAI’s development and further strengthen its leadership position.

  • For OpenAI, the deal secures a critical supply chain advantage at a time when global demand for advanced AI chips is outstripping supply, and it could see AMD become a formidable challenger to NVIDIA’s dominance.
