Hey {{first_name}}

Ian Kahn has spent 27 years at PwC and is now a Partner and the Global Leader of its Customer and Commercial Excellence Platform, a team of almost 10,000 practitioners. He advises some of the firm's largest clients as AI reshapes their markets, and he calls this the biggest change of his career.

On the latest episode of The AI Report Podcast, Liam sat down with Ian from Dreamforce to talk about what he's seeing from that vantage point.

Here's what he covers:

  • Who is capturing the value. PwC's research shows that about 20% of companies capture roughly 75% of the value from AI deployment, while the rest are investing but haven't seen the returns yet.

  • Why teams resist. Ian explains why pitching AI as automation tends to fall flat, and why leaders get further by explaining the purpose behind the change.

  • How PwC runs it internally. He describes the "workforce dividend," where agents take on routine administrative work and the freed-up time goes back into client relationships.

  • His own agents. Ian runs a portfolio of agents that work under his direction, and he now manages much of it by voice.

  • Advice for the AI-era job market. The best guidance he has received in 27 years, and what he'd pass on.
